Just weeks after we moved to Utah, my best friend Sarah and her family travelled up from Arizona for a family wedding.  My kids and I drove up to Bountiful so we could take care of their kids while they were in the sealing.  Thankfully,  I had my camera with me that beautiful Spring day.  Since I have not made it back up to Bountiful since then, there is just one picture of this temple for now.  I do love this picture though.  Just look at those pink blossoms!

Though we are not in the Jordan River Temple District, I often drive by this temple because it is only a few miles from my house.   In fact, from our temple (the Oquirrh Mountain Temple), you can look out over the valley and see the Jordan River Temple and the Draper Temple.  Amazing!

Draper Temple Prints are Now Available for purchase through the “FEATURED” section of my WEBSITE.

Early one Saturday morning, before anyone else in the house was awake, the Bub and I drove out to photograph the Draper Temple at sunrise.  The Fall colors had just started to turn and there was a fresh crispness in the air.  As I was literally focusing on the temple (do you like my photography play on words?), I felt the peace and assurance that these buildings and the work done within the walls, do bring us closer to the Lord.  We come to understand Him and His plan for us as we frequent His house.

Mount Timpanogos Temple Portraits are now available for purchase through the “FEATURED” section of my WEBSITE.

As a teenager, I was able to attend the Mount Timpanogos Temple open house.  I don’t actually remember very much about it except that we went at night and it was really cold.  But, considering my Arizona blood, it may not have been that cold.  It might have just seemed that way to me.  But, I do remember the feeling I felt as we looked in on the “bride’s room” and the committment I made to myself that day that I would marry in the temple.

I am excited to announce that the Salt Lake City Temple portraits are now available for purchase through the featured section of my WEBSITE.  And, remember that I am offering free shipping!

I have always loved the Salt Lake Temple.  In the last conference, Elder L. Tom Perry said, “There is a special spirit in these older temples, which were constructed at great sacrifice by the early pioneers.”  I can attest to that.  Not only do I love the setting of the Salt Lake Temple and have happy childhood memories of visiting the temple grounds, walking through the Beehive House – eating that nasty candy they give you at the end of the tour, walking down to the old-fashioned ice cream parlor….  But, I also have a deep revernece and respect for the temple itself.  I actually received my endowment in the Salt Lake Temple.  It was a queit evening in October.  We were in town for a funeral.  Following the funeral, BJ and I went queitly to the House of the Lord, where a sweet temple worker served as my escort.  There was no fanfare.   No family reunion.  Just solitude and peace.  I  am so thankful for the eternal and binding covenants we enter into in the temples.

I have been working on a big project this past month to photograph every temple in the Salt Lake Valley.  It started as an effort to capture an amazing image of the new Oquirrh Mountain Temple.  I wanted to create a work of art worthy of hanging in my home.  Then, I extended this project to include all of the nearby temples.  It was so amazing being a part of the open house and preparation for the Oquirrh Mountain Temple dedication.  We feel so blessed to live almost in the shadow of this beautiful house of God.
