mini miracle…
January 17, 2008Jase has been really sad this week, spending a lot of his awake time fussy and only taking 20 minute naps. With BJ out of town for the week and little relief from the crying day or night, I have been feeling very tired, physically and emotionally. Tonight after all the girls were in bed, I was holding Jase as he screamed. I was unable to console him, so I just sat on the couch and rocked him as he cried. Exhausted, I started praying that somehow Jase would be comforted and that he would be able to sleep. The crying woke little Brighton up and she came to snuggle by us on the couch. After a few minutes, she started quietly singing “weenter, weenter, witter tar” (twinkle, twinkle, little star). Immediately, his cry became less frantic and he calmed down enough to hear her sweet voice. Soon, he fell asleep. Though this was just a small thing, it was a miracle to me. Through Brighton, I felt the love that my Heavenly Father has for me. He is aware of me.
Well, hopefully this memory will sustain me through the night. Jase is crying again….

blessing…
January 2, 2008On December 29th, our family gathered in our home to participate in Jase’s blessing. BJ, assisted by Grandpa Gary, Grandpa Dave, Eric, Brett, Jared, Bri, and Brother D’Addabbo, gave him a name and a blessing. BJ blessed him that his body would grow healthy and strong. That he would always know and feel how grateful we are to have him in our family. That he would seek out spiritual things and seek the Lord to direct him in his life. To serve a faithful mission and find a wife to take to the temple to be sealed for time and all eternity. To follow the leaders of the church to know what direction to take to make the best decisions in life. And finally, that he would follow the examples of his sisters.
It was such a neat experience to have the spirit in our home as worthy priesthood holders held my sweet baby and pronounced this blessing upon him. I am thankful for BJ, for the testimony that he has and that he is worthy to bless our children.
I am so in love with this sweet baby and so thankful that he came to our family!
oreo truffes…

a.k.a. delicious balls of heavenly yum!
RECIPE
1 package oreos, finely crushed
8 oz. cream cheese at room temperature
Mix. Form into balls. Freeze for 15 minutes. Roll in melted chocolate. Top as desired. Enjoy!
(Okay…so I am not sure why I took a picture of the ugliest looking truffle on the plate. When making these at 2 a.m., I got lazy and stopped rolling them in the chocolate. But, I promise; they do look much prettier when completely covered in chocolate.)
