ANNOUNCEMENT…
April 11, 2007Easter Memories…
April 11, 2007On Easter Sunday, Kennady and Addy sang a duet in church. Even though I had heard them sing the song hundreds of times (learning and rehearsing), it still brought tears to my eyes. The message of the song was inspiring and the girls sang so beautifully. When it came to their part of the program, they held hands and walked calmly and confidently up to the microphone. Without the slightest hesitation, they started on cue and sang every word. It was angelic.
The Atonement
In the Garden and on the cross
Jesus paid the awesome cost
of a world of pain and sin
so I can be whole again.
Full of mercy and full of love
He redeemed me with His love.
His atonement sets me free
and gives me hope–
for I know He loves me.

After conference today (wasn’t it great?), I took a few pictures of Kennady. She was sitting next to me when I uploaded them to my computer. When she saw one of them (which was my other favorite from today), she said, in a very matter-of-fact voice, “You can X that one out.” I was so disappointed because I thought it was such an awesome picture. Ever eager to please, she changed her mind and allowed me to keep the picture, but informed me that I could only keep it for me. I wasn’t allowed to show it to anyone.
So, here is the one I am allowed to show…
Highlights from conference:
Elder Holland talked about using kind words, avoiding gossip, etc. He said that women ought to speak with the voice of an angel. He even gave some awesome tips for how we can effectively speak to our children. He is one of my all time favorite speakers.
Elder Eyring’s talk about service. He said there are two reasons we avoid giving service…discouragment and complacency. I am guilty of complacency. I feel a renewed determination to put aside my selfish nature and reach out to help others.
And of course, I always love hearing President Hinckley speak. His uplifting words remind us to stand a little taller, be a little kinder, serve a little better, etc. It is so motivating to know that we are not expected to do everything perfect. Just be a little better every day. I love conference!
